God In The Middle” opens with a field recording captured in a Buddhist monastery in Vietnam by Berlin-based

musician and producer Adrian Scholz, aka Helmut. It’s a fitting prelude to a contemplative, minimalist groove that approaches themes of spiritual solitude, addiction, and trauma with poetic sensitivity—never slipping into solemn heaviness.

“three lines of luck, one’s for the heart, and two to turn off”

Built on a restrained blend of drums, melodic bass lines, gently placed synths, and chorus-soaked guitars, the track’s elegant indie sound carries a subtle French touch, leaving ample space to breathe. Helmut’s production is meticulously considered while still allowing room for thought and feeling.

“God In The Middle” is the first single from Helmut’s forthcoming album Content Creatures, to be released in April via ST.VLADIMIR.

Helmut - Bio

Helmut’s songs stand out through intimate vocals, melodic bass lines, and understated electronics infused with Kraut, synthwave, and hip-hop elements, paired with straightforward, drum-machine–esque rhythms. The Berlin-based singer and producer tells stories suspended between interstellar longing and android warmth — a radio station for the last human, or the first on Mars.

Spiegel Online has previously described his albums Polymono and Our Walls as “one of the best pop records of the year,” “criminally overlooked,” and “unsentimentally sensual music” (Andreas Borcholte).

Helmut has toured with Beirut, Joan As Police Woman, Ghostpoet, and Villagers, and will release his third studio album Content Creatures in 2026 on Berlin-based label ST.VLADIMIR (Bulgarian Cartrader, Nik Dandelion, Ant Antic).
