With big balloon I tried to describe something beautiful, something untouchable, like being in a perfect world where love conquers all. I think I view this song as a getaway from the realisation that some things are meant to last and others aren’t. I get a choice, we get a choice. But sometimes that might not be enough. For those moments this song should bring solace, an escape. A description of a perfect world where love wins.

The Dutch songwriter got support by the exceptionally talented Casey Shirin, who complements the song perfectly and makes your heart ache even more. The duet is an ode to the real fight for love, immersive and wistful, able to make the listener relate with the two sides in a relationship. Produced by the platinum-awarded producer duo Quarterhead and co-written and produced by Derek Ullenboom, the tune manages to create an intimate melancholy, carried by a beautiful looping guitar riff and tasteful lo-fi drums. This energy makes you nod your head while crying at the same time.
Big Balloon is the first single after ferdinant.'s 'Airplanes' EP, which was released earlier this year, was featured in eight different New Music Fridays, got radio rotation in Germany (FluxFM, Unser Ding, Antenne Bayern and more) and the Netherlands (NPO, 3GDR, Radio1...) and reached over 2 million streams to date.

When I first listened to "Big Balloon" I got warm and hopeful feelings.
As if you look at someone and the world around you is quiet and nothing else matters.
Love can feel so easy, like you’re flying in a balloon but experiencing rough patches is also part of the journey.
